SO SORRY FOR NOT WRITING

To all my readers. I am so sorry for not writing an update on here. I have been so very busy between the dogs, classes and work I have not been on here. My computer is also acting up, guess I need to take it to the doctors as well. It wont download any pictures or anything right now. So sorry no new pics for awhile.
I do want to tell you first that the newborn girl pup that was having a hard time after she was born is doing fantastic. She starting nursing on her own Friday night and has gained plenty of weight. You would never know it was touch and go for her. She is just adorable and has pinky cheeks. She will be a light tan for sure. All the pups are growing and are really sweet. This is a really nice litter and two of them look like they are going to be tiny. They all remind me of Key when he was a baby.
Everyone else is doing well. I take Ruby on Monday for her pre-delivery xray so I will be sure to let you know how many pups we are expecting from her. She is due next Thursday!! Boy are we going to have a house full then........LOL
Libbys pups are doing great......we are still working on ears and so far they just think the tapes are playtoys......little monsters. Jazzys pups are become love bugs. Now they attack and lick and kiss you all over with every interaction.......too cute for sure.

Do we have any pups still available? Yes we do .........give me a call or send an email to chat. Take care Holly

MAKING GAINS

I just verified all the weights on the pups. They are as follows:

Boy 3 1/2 oz today 3 7/8 oz Girl #1 4 5/8oz today 5 oz

Girl #2 4 5/8 oz today 5 3/8 oz
Girl #3 4 oz today 4 1/4 oz (pink)

Tiny girl # 4 3 7/8 oz today 4 oz. (yellow)

Abbie is being a very good mom........keep the thoughts positive!!! Holly

MISS EMMA MAE

Here are a couple of pics of Miss Emma Mae. Emma lives in Dexter with my friend Judy and is co-owned by TMY. Emma is a future breeder and pick of the litter out of Liberty and Grady in their November 2006 litter. The first picture is showing Emma in a "little" bed that I bought her for x-mas last year. She obviously still loves the bed and as Judy put it......she looks like a hotdog in a bun......LOL. The next pic is showing her beautiful shiny silk coat. She is ultimately turning into a very pretty adult girl. We just love her..........Holly

JAZZY PLAYPEN PUPS

They were having a great time yesterday in the playpen......so cute!

ABBIE UPDATE

Well the little girl is still with us today. She still is not doing as well as I would like. A newborn that cries constantly indicates either hunger, cold or something is not right. The little girl does allot of crying. I am doing everything that I can from having her on a hot water bottle to supplement feeding. She does seem content when I do that. I am still monitoring her closely. All the other pups seem to be doing ok and Mom is doing well. Will keep you all posted for sure. Holly

ABBIE HAS DELIVERED

Another surprise here at TMY. I got up at 4 am this morning to get ready to leave for the show in Springfield Ma and here was Abbie with all 5 puppies. She free whelped perfectly!! Abbie delivered 4 girls and 1 boy. Just the opposite of last litter. All that praying for girls must have paid off.........LOL. I am concerned about one of the girls that was cold and not nursing. I have warmed her up and have given her some supplement. I will watch her closely and possibly take her up to see doc at 8 am. I will keep all of you posted. Without too much detail right now, they weigh in the 3-4 oz range. Holly

ABBIE'S X-RAY....BIG SURPRISE!!!

Well everyone! We had a big surprise for sure. I was expecting 3-4 pups from Abbie and we have 5 in there!!!!!!!! Lets hope for a nice selection of girls, but if they are all boys we will take them anyways.......LOL. I just want them all to be healthy and to have mom, Abbie to have an easy delivery and a good post partum. We will keep you posted on her progression and we are still looking at Sunday for the big delivery!! Don't forget that you can click on the photo to make it larger so you can see them.........enjoy........HOlly

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Knowing that tomorrow is going to be a very busy day for all, TMY would like to take a moment to say "Happy Thanksgiving" to everyone out there reading this blog.

We at TMY have so very much to be thankful for and hope that all of you take a brief moment at some point in the next day or so to count your blessings. So often in our busy lives we forget to stop and smell the roses so to speak. I look around me and say 'how lucky am I? " "Wow, our hard work and dedication is really paying off!" etc........ but the truth is we are truly blessed.

We are truly blessed to have wonderful family, children, grandchildren and friends. Truly blessed to have an awesome career in Nursing and a wonderful job that allows me to be home 6 days a week. Truly blessed to have health. Truly blessed to have such a wonderful family of Yorkies who we love very much. Truly blessed to have beautiful yorkie babies to share with you and truly blessed to have so many WONDERFUL people that have come into our lives because of the Yorkies.

In this age of soaring gas and oil prices, continued war in Iraq, natural disasters around the country with thousands of casualties and now homeless and starving people, disease, international espionage and more, we are so fortunate to have been born in the US where people do care, love and have resources that we can tap into when needed. We are all truly blessed in our lives and may you all have a wonderful holiday with your family and friends. I am always here for you for questions, concerns and friendship. Thank you very much for reading my Blog, being out there giving us support and for finding me and the yorkies. Have a wonderful turkey day and don't eat too much!! HOlly

PEEKING PUPPIES

Hope you all don't get sick of puppy pictures........ Here are Lib's pups peeking over the end of the whelping box.......enjoy

PUPPY VISITS

Sunday TMY had puppy visits and we were so excited to meet everyone in person. Several of the new moms and dads came to see their little ones for the first time. It was a great day and the dogs all appreciated all the petting and cuddling they got.
TMY allows puppy visits when the pups are about 4 weeks old but not before. The moms are protective and the pups are not mature enough to handle all the excitement before then. I also am over protective regarding germs that might be brought into the house as well.
Currently we still have one female pup that may be available out of Libby. She is a sweet little girl and is on hold until Abbie delivers which should be around this coming Sunday.
Tomorrow is the big day for Abbie. We will be taking her up for her pre delivery x-ray to see how many pups we are expecting. I will keep all of you posted. Have a great day! Holly

RESULTS OF FITCHBURG SHOW

Well here we are before Key was ready for the show on Saturday. We stayed at my cousins house overnight in Worcester. (thank you for putting up with us and Key terrorized their poor kitties Friday night even though they outweighed him by 15 lbs!!)
Key did very well taking a first for Winner's Dog both days and Best of Opposite Sex both days in Fitchburg. We are having so much fun showing and meeting new people every time we go. One of these days I will get our picture taken at the show to show all of you how handsome he looks all dressed up!! Holly

these are all Libs pups except the one marked with the 3 pups who are Jazzy's.

LOLA UPDATE

A little pic of Lola down in Ma......she weighs 4 lbs and is Jazzys daughter from Jan 07 litter. I am told she hates to have her picture taken so the ears are down! Too cute.

SAD STORY-DEATH BY HYPOGLYCEMIA

I guess I can't always write about beautiful little puppies and fun happenings at TMY, so here is a true story that just pulls at my heartstrings. Why am I telling you about this? Because here at TMY we are open, we want to educate you and it doesn't matter if you are purchasing a puppy from us or someone else. We feel it is so important that you know what to do no matter what. Why other breeders don't take the time, we are not sure............. I guess this is an example of just what sets us apart from others. Read and Learn...........

Recently I recieved a phone call from Erin in Indiana. Yes Indiana believe it or not!! She had visited Maine last summer and had met my husband at his workplace. She had sneaked her yorkie into the store with her and of course my husband saw the little one and they started chatting, and he showed her a pic of our family that he carrys on his clipboard. He gave her one of our cards with our information on it. One of her friends bought a beloved little yorkie from a "backyard" breeder out there. She picked up her healthy, bouncy little one, visited Erin and let the puppies play and went home. Apparently that evening the pup either did not eat at all or only ate a little. Later she crated the pup and went to bed. In the morning when she awoke, she went to get her little one up and she lay dead in her crate!!! Her heart is broken! The reason for the phone call to me was..........WHY????
Of course that is hard to answer, but the reasonable reponse and in all probability is that the pup died during the night due to hypoglycemia, low blood sugar. Had the breeder educated this new mom of the potential for hypoglycemia this may have never happened. Hypoglycemia can be caused from stress from a change in environment, heat or cold, lack of nutrition, extended play and many other things. A reputable breeder would educate you BEFORE you take the puppy home. As all of you remember who have purchased pups from me, I more than stress the importance of eating, limited play and Quick Start........ I send all of my pups home with a squirt bottle of Quick Start, a high sugar content liquid. If this is not available to you from a vet, then make sure you pick up some Nutri Stat or Nutri Cal at the petstore to use. You can mix some of this in a small container with some Kayro syrup or honey to use. It will do the same thing.
I also send home a container of baby food meat, canned foods and kibbles. It is sooooo important that these little ones eat. They can deplete their sugar easily just due to stress and play.
The other thing I recommend is to take your puppy straight home!! I know you want to show him/her off, but these first few days are critical. Let him enjoy you and get used to his new surroundings. There is plenty of time for visits in the future.
Limit their playtime. Yes it is cute to see them bouncing around the house, but again, they are tiny babies and need their rest.
Remember, TMY has a handout located within our website on hypoglycemia. I also am available for questions at any time..........it does not matter to me if I know you or not. Please do not hesitate to call me.....................don't have your heart broken because some breeder did not take the time to educate you. Holly

JAZZYS PUPS GROWING

Here are some pic's of Jazzy's babies. They are starting to try to walk.......so cute

LUCY'S FIRST TIME OUT-FUN MATCH

I took Lucy to a fun Match on Sunday. It was her first time out. As you can see.........she is very "stressed" about the whole situation.......LOL She slept most of the time on the table.
Here she perked up a little and was watching the other dogs.
And here she was fighting me stacking on the table......lol. It's ok, it was all just for fun. We had a nice time and met and talked with some nice people. Holly

KEY AT THE MOHEGAN SUN SHOW

Here is Beth Faunce and her girl Starry getting ready to go into the ring. We did not bring our tables ringside so here I am smoothing down Key's coat.

The Judge is going over Key, looking at this teeth, topline and coat.
In this shot, Key and I are making our round, around the ring while the judge is checking his movement and stride. Key won Best Dog, a first place in his class.
In this picture I am competing for Best of Breed in the Yorkie class. The man behind me has the Winners bitch he is walking. Key won Best of Opposite Sex and the adult bitch won Best in Breed.

JAZZYS PUPS HAVE EYES OPEN

Jazzy's boy.......head turning gold already!
Here are Jazzy's two girls.
They are so cute with their eyes open and crawling around in the whelping box now.!
