Some of you asked where the shows are or how to find them. Most AKC sanctioned shows are listed on Infodog.com. You can click on show information and then the State you are interested in and find all the upcoming shows in the area. I show at the show listed as AB which is all breed confirmation. You can also click on the judges catalog to find out Yorkie show times once it is posted. You will be seeing other types of shows listed as well.
My next shows are:
July 3 Crackerbarrel Fairgrounds, Wrentham MA
July 8, 9, 10 At the Expo in West Springfield MA
July 16, 17 18 Vermont (click on Vermont to see the show sites) There are 2.
We then will reassess what other shows we are going to. Possibly one at the end of the month in Rhode Island. August is up in the air due to expecting puppies. Holly
We are a New England couple living in Maine and are here to share our love for the Yorkshire Terrier breed with you. Our "Taylor Made" puppies have great bloodlines, are AKC registered and are bred to be within the Yorkshire Terrier 'standard'.

DOG DAYS OF SUMMER
With the dog days of summer just ahead of us, it is important to remember that your furbabies can overheat and have problems. Here are a few tips to think about as we approach the hottest weather in New England.
1. Always keep fresh water available for your dog.
2. When traveling, provide water often. A bunny feeder water bottle hooked to the side of the crate works well. Dog waters can be found commercially.
3. Be sure your dog eats. Nutrition came combat hypoglycemia and being overheated and excessive panting can deplete their glucose (sugar) in their bodies. Offer small more frequent meals. At a cookout? Small pieces of chicken, watermellon or cheese work well.
4. Never leave your dog in the car even with the windows cracked.! The temperature in a car in the hot sun can rise very quickly to life threatening temperatures. Every year we hear about pets that suffocate from the heat.
5. If you think your dog is overheating, press cold/ice packs against their belly. This will help them cool down.
6. Saturate a towel with cold water and wrap your dog in it especially over the top of the head and ears.
7. Keep them shaded if possible. an umbrella helps in the scorching sun.
8. Take them into the water and submerse their body to cool them down. Dont make them swim, it can cause more stress.
9. Use fans to circulate the air if they are left in a crate or x-pen. Crate fans are available commercially as well.
10. A nice short haircut for the summer months is always helpful.......dont forget...that long coat will grow back.
Enjoy these tips and have a wonderful safe summer.

I CAN'T THANK ALL OF YOU ENOUGH !!
Taylor Made Yorkies hosted its' 4th Annual yorkie family reunion today. With more than 65 people and over 30 puppies visiting we had a wonderful day. I can't thank all of you enough for coming to see us. Every year I look forward to seeing each and every one of you, and to see the puppies it is just incredible!!! I love them all!! I also appreciate the special guests we had today that came to visit us. Some will be perspective parents and some dear friends that I so much care for.
We had sunshine, tons of great food again, some of which I sneaked into the house so I could eat it again tonight....lol, prizes, and the special gifts for everyone which this year was a 2011 calendar featuring pictures of many of the dogs, and of course toys for all the pups.
Mainely Media came to visit and will write a story and include picutures for the paper. Big hugs to all of you. I tried to spend more time chatting and less time running. I think I did better this year than in the past.
We had cake, and I mean CAKE. A special gift cake was given to me by the O'Connors. I can't thank you enough. It was my 4 point picture showing Payton and the cake was gorgeous. We also had a huge bone cake made by yours truly. The brownies, fudge, pie, cupcakes and cookies were available for all to enjoy. I will be posting a bunch of pictures on here so be sure to check them out.
Again, from my heart I love all of you and your little furbabies. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING MY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holly

4th ANNUAL YORKIE FAMILY REUNION
Don't forget that this Saturday is our 4th ANNUAL YORKIE FAMILY REUNION. I am still waiting for lots of RSVP's and would love to hear from you even if you can't come. We have a wonderful day planned with another "special" gift this year, a promise for great food and lots of yorkies and people to visit with.
Norma Brettell will be our guest speaker this year. She is going to talk to all of you about losing our darling Lulu. She has been missing for well over a month now which we are very sad about, however, Norma has some valuable information that may help one of you in the future.
The weather still looks great and we promise you will have a great time! Holly

MEADOW'S CHAMPIONSHIP PICTURE
I just got Meadow's Championship picture in the mail today. I also received a gold medalion.....very nice I may add, from AKC as Meadow won all of her points in the Bred By Exhibitor class, meaning that yours truly, bred, owns and showed her (breeder-owner-handler) all myself!! This is quite an award. I also received a letter that states that Meadow may be invited to the Eukanuba Championship at Westminster for the February 2011 show. WOW.....although I probably won't take her as I am hoping to have a litter from her by this fall, all of this is quite an honor!!!!!!!!!! We love you Meadow.......Holly and all of TMY

FINDING LULU
Lulu was seen crossing the road near Bennett Rd by Bear Brook Kennel on Friday afternoon. "it gives us all hope that she is still alive." Lulu has been missing for 4 weeks now. Wally and Norma spent all weekend again trying to find her or at least see her. No good news. Dont give up out there. She is still running scared and most likely is portraying the "wild dog" type syndrome where humans are not her friends. If you see her dont chase her.....sit down and try to talk softly and get her to come to you..........don't give up and call us if seen. thanks so much Holly

HUGE WIN FOR TAYLOR'S PAY-ENG IT FORWARD!!
Here is Payton after her big win........she had no idea what she did!
We showed for 4 days in Fitchburg Ma this past weekend. Everyone was calling the "RESERVE" queen. I think I must have had it pasted to my head by day 3. I showed Wind all 4 days and he got reserve the first 3. We just could not pull off any points. I showed "Payton" just 2 days and on Saturday she got Reserve as well. Our last day there, Wind did nothing but our little 8 month old "Taylor's Pay-Eng it Forward" earned a Winners Bitch title with BEST of Winners over 14 entries getting a 4 POINT MAJOR on her 5th show ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so exciting and everyone was hugging me and congratulating me.........I was in shock and just couldn't wrap myself around what just happening. Unbelievable ending to the weekend. Payton is the daughter of Fallon and Sutton. Pictures to come! But we are sooooooooo proud of her!! HOlly
