INTRODUCING MEADOW!

TMY is so pleased to announce our pick of the Litter from Emma and Sutton. Unfortunately I had to take the pictures of her while she was sleeping.........every time she saw the camera she would go bonkers and not hold still.
Taylor's Em-A-Zeng Blue Meadow, Meadow for short is 9 weeks old and a doll. She is a show hopeful and time will tell. We just think she is adorable. Holly

ABBIE'S BABIES 1 WEEK OLD

As you can see, Abbie's pups are becoming little butter balls. They are healthy and so cute, changing every day. The tiny one in one of the pictures of 2 pups is a male laying next to the bigger boy. The other two and the single pup in the picture are the girls. We still have a boy available. Enjoy. Holly

HOME VISIT TO SEE MAX AND MAISIE

I had the opportunity to visit a couple of my puppies at their home this week. Here is Max, son of Ruby and Grady. Max is very outgoing and such a kissy bug. He rules the roost and just is a joy for sure.
Maisie, daughter of Abbie and Grady is much more reserved and really did not want her picture taken. She kept sneaking up behind me and giving me kisses on my ear to let me know she enjoyed the visit although she is the shy reserved one in the household.
Bill and Vicki are here playing with their new additions, Molly and Maddie. The little sneakers were having a wonderful time terrorizing Max and Maisie and showing off for their new brother and sister. Thank you to this family for LOVING their yorkies the way they do. Holly

EM'S GIRLS HOME FOR THE PICK

Emma and Sutton's 3 little girls are back to TMY for the duration. I wanted to see them and spend some time with them before I make my pic. They are very cute and soooooooo playful. They did very well their first night back at home and not a peep. The other two will be going to live in D-Foxcroft with 2 other TMY puppies, Max and Maisie.

ABBIE HAS DELIVERED!!!

What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afernoon............My friend Karen and I spent all afternoon by Abbie's side helping her thru her labor and delivery. Abbie and Sutton has given us 3 beautiful girls and 2 handsome little boys. The girls weighed in at 3.5 oz, 3 7/8 oz and 4 3/4oz........the boys weigh 4 7/8 oz and the last to be be born was the little guy weighing in at 3 1/8oz. All are doing well and I will keep you posted. A HUGE THANK YOU TO KAREN FOR ALL THE HELP!!!!!!! Holly

ALL WORN OUT!

Lib's pups are just too cute. They were just all worn out in this picture. Taylor my granddaughter came over and spent the day.........much of it in their pen with them playing. The one on the left has a name now.........Charlie. Taylor on the right sleeping with Sutton on the couch........guess the pups were not the only ones..."worn out". She had just gone swimming and wrapped herself up in a towel and fell sound asleep. Taylor is out name sake for our Kennel name.........she is just a doll now almost 8 yrs old. It doesnt seem possible!

RUBY DUE ON JULY 20TH

Our Miss Ruby is due around July 20th. She is bred to our original male, Grady. We expect that she will have a small litter this time. Yesterday she jumped into the pool and had fun with our granddaughter Taylor, swimming and retrieving the ball. She is such a joy and just loves the grand children. She also just had her new summer cut. Nice and short for when the babies come. Enjoy.

REUNION PICTURES

ANOTHER ATTACK THIS TIME TOO CLOSE TO HOME!!

I have written several times about viscous attacks on yorkies but never about one that included my family . This time the story is too close to home. Toby and Rosie both TMY bred by dogs were being walked on friday night up in the So. Portland area. Two dogs came out of their yard, neither leashed or contained and attacked both of them. The family member also sustained injuries. Rosie (in the kennel) was just released from the vet mid afternoon yesterday with injuries and Toby also has some injury. I can't get into all the details at this time but again.............PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE....THE UNEXPECTED DOES HAPPEN!. We are very fortunate that BOTH dogs should recover with time. Our prayers are with everyone in the family.
In California, most folks carry a baseball bat for protection so they CAN walk their dogs on the streets.............. Is this what it is coming to here as well!!!!!!!!!!!! Please be careful...............Holly

2ND ANNUAL YORKIE FAMILY REUNION-FUN-FUN

The weather was a bit dreary yesterday for TMY's 2nd annual Yorkie Family reunion however the the SUN was shining brightly from everyone's faces who attended. More than 40 folks attended and 20+ puppies came home to visit. The food was so delicious and the fun continued for several hours.
Prizes were awarded to several attendees and all the pups went home with a little something. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I was to see everyone and my little babies. They are all so beautiful and special!!

OTTIE UPDATE

Unfortunately Ottie and his family are unable to make the reunion so here is an updated picture of him. Ottie is the son of Grady and Ruby. They just love him and he goes hiking and exploring with his new family all the time. Such a good boy!

UNDER MY DESK

For those of you who have been here, you know that my computer is in the office type area but the pups are welcome in and out of the room as they see fit. It maximizes socialization for them and of course it allows me to enjoy them as well. This picture is today....as I am typing this blog.........most of the pups are under the desk at my feet taking a little nap as I have to reach to type, as they have minimized the foot space that I can have.... LOL. enjoy..........Holly

DURSEY PASSES EXAMS!!! ANOTHER TMY STAR

GREAT NEWS.......DURSEY PASSED THE DELTA SOCIETY PET PARTNERS EVALUATION ON 6/21/08!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of him. He sailed through the obedience section, which is basically the CGC test and then the aptitude test. Even though a very young and new dog the evaluators found him very people oriented, focused, joyful..and giver of smiles and laughter.. Their words not mine. I am getting his registration packet together including our vet's medical forms he has to complete for mailing to Delta headquarters I expect to have his license and Delta Ins. in place by end of August. His therapy vest may have to be custom made. We will start in local nursing homes with shadowing in libraries. Eventually we will be able to work with young and pre-k students on reading skills. Our 2nd annual Yorkie Family Reunion is just a week away........Please let me know if you are coming so that we can plan appropriately. We have had a great response so far. A STAR IS BORN!!!!!!!! WE HAVE A WINNER!!

Taylor's Little Anya, owned by the Gilberts, daughter of Taylor's Sir Grady and Taylor's Jazzy Star, born on January 15th, 2007 has won First Place in the Federated Women's Club Photography contest. This baby photo of Anya was enlarged to 10 x 12 and matted.
Anya is sitting in a cup type scale and it actually shows that she weighs a whopping 1.5 lbs. Her eyes deemed blue in the photo and the enlargement enhanced the color. (Click on the photo t see the enlargement) As the winner at the Maine level, her photo has not been entered at the National level.
The Nationwide National Federated Women's Club judging won't take place until the fall of 2008 and no matter what the results are.............Anya is a winner in our eyes. Holly

SUMMER CUTS

The dog days of summer are upon us and our little ones can get heat stressed just because of coat. Although Ozzie does not look really happy in his after cut, he will benefit from being cooler for the summer. He did look absolutely adorable after it was done. As I do more, I will become more confident. Several of my moms have already received their "summer cuts" to assist them in a more care free summer. If any of you would like to have me groom your pups, give me a call. Holly

RHODODENDRONS POISONOUS AS WELL

Yesterday we had a mishap with one of our pups. The rhododendrons are in full bloom here and as they bloom they shed a shell like leaf. These leaves end up on the ground and are very sticky. Daizie was outside and happened to walk under the bush and the shells stuck to her feet and in her hair. We didnt notice what was happening until it was too late.
When she came in she started pulling them off her feet and eating them. I noticed her chomping on something so went over and there were all these little leaves stuck to her feet and imbedded in her hair. I removed them all but it was too late. Within an hour she was vomiting violently and was hypersalivating. She was a very sick puppy for a few hours but is doing fine today. Ingesting these leaves can lead to: vomiting, diarrhea, hypersalivation, weakness, coma, CNS depression., cardiac collapse and death. We have now put a small fence around the plant so it wont happen again........but just some more info to help you keep your pups safe. Holly

DANGEROUS MULCH-PLEASE READ

Cocoa Mulch, which is sold by Home Depot, Foreman's Garden Supply andother Garden supply stores, contains a lethal ingredient called'Theobromine' . It is lethal to dogs and cats. It smells like choc olate and it really attracts dogs. They will ingest this stuff and die.Several deaths already occurred in the last 2-3 weeks. Just a word ofcaution, check what you are using in y our gardens and be aware of what your gardeners are using in your gardens.Theobromine is in all chocolate, especially dark or baker's chocolatewhich is toxic to dogs.Cocoa bean shells contain potentially toxic quantities of theobromine,a xanthine compound similar in effects to caffeine and theophylline. Adog that ingested a lethal quantity of garden mulch made from cacaobean shells developed severe convulsions and d i ed 17 hours later.Analysis of the stomach contents and the ingested cacao bean shellsrevealed the presence of lethal amounts of theobromine.
